The Fishing Blues (in first position)

This is a really great old tune made popular in the 1960s’ by Taj Mahal and The Lovin’ Spoonful. I’ve arranged a fun version of it here in first position. If you’re feeling less than inspired with the upper end of the harp or with your first position (blues) playing, then this is a video lesson you’ll want to get. It’s a great workout for your upper register blow bends (not overblows) and incorporates some pretty cool licks up there. The video lesson comes complete with harmonica tablature and three play-a-long tracks at different tempos to practice along with. For ten bucks it’s a steal. 18 minutes long
